Our room looked nothing like any of the pictures. It looked like something out of a horror movie; light was flickering in the bathroom and very dim, scum around shower head, tub wouldn’t drain, There was red blood or lipstick on the bed. There was stains in the carpet & flies everywhere. We unloaded just to load up and leave. The stairs are very old, rusted and unstable going to 2nd level

This is an older place, outside room entrance but the rooms are really clean. Call ahead or look at the Star drive in Facebook page to see which movie you will see and hear from your room (screen 1). The breakfast is in the lobby area which is separate from the hotel so ask to be closer when you book. You can also walk to get pop and popcorn from the drive-in. The Mexican restaurant next door is good.

Monte Vista is lacking in both lodging and eateries. Since we’ve passed the Movie Manor a number of times and always commented on it, I thought we needed to stay there. And we did. As expected, the rooms have a big window facing the movie screen. A long way away, but if there was a movie (which there wasn’t – season begins next weekend) we could have seen it from our room. The room was fine, nicely maintained, but a bit small. It had a queen bed, two bed tables, a small café table with chairs and a credenza off to one side. And a bit window for viewing the far away film. De. sk service was a bit cool. The young attendant seemed like she had better things to do and we were an interruption. They have one of the best breakfast areas we've been to. A large high ceilinged room with large windows facing the mountains for a wonderful view. Wow. But breakfast wasn't as good. Fine. A bit meager. Usual chain hotel fare, but a bit less. Not that we've stayed at the Movie Manor, would we stay there again. Probably not. Too vanilla flavored to be of much interest. But we can now say that we've stayed there.

the lobby area is new and great but the buildings with the rooms are pretty old and unpleasant
our room in the pet friendly building was located about 300 m away from the lobby, there was dog p**p close to the area where I unloaded my car
an old toilet was dumped behind the building where we stayed, very unpleasant
close to the room door was a big trash bin without cover, and we had nesting pigeons close to the door
walking the dog was difficult because of the thorny vegetation surrounding the property
based on the pics in the booking portal we expected a much different experience
room was clean, breakfast was great, reception was friendly but never again in this hotel

It’s a pretty old place and thus pretty shabby. It was clean enough, the beds were very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The area around it was also pretty rundown with some questionable items strewn about. It served its purpose for us just driving through town.
